What each diploma or qualification covers
Each type of certification is explained here, with its awarding body.
- The same word can cover different realities: the profile always states the exact nature of the qualification or diploma.
- The official title, the certifying body and the institution authorised to award the certification are specified.
- No mention is published without an official reference.

Reading guide
Reading a programme page correctly
Each profile states the institution delivering the programme, the entry and exit levels, the exact nature of the certification (national diploma, state diploma, RNCP-registered qualification, professional certification, diploma from a partner institution, an institution's own certificate or a certificate of attendance), the certifying body and, where applicable, the registration number and validity date, as well as the institution authorised to deliver the programme leading to the certification. Delivering a programme does not mean awarding the certification: where the certifying body is a third party, it is named.

Where to check official references
Qualifications and certifications registered in the RNCP or the Répertoire spécifique can be checked on the France compétences website. National diplomas fall under the ministry responsible for higher education. For a diploma awarded by a partner institution, that institution remains the reference authority. If in doubt, contact the institution or the group.
